GETTING HEALTHY FOR FIFTY
1/2/2024 0 Comments is this real?I weigh in daily because that is what NOOM wants you to do (and I actually love it!) I admit, I have been eating ham since Christmas Eve, and snacking on cookies and pistachios daily. I haven't done my steps during that time. I haven't charted my foods on NOOM. I have been drinking lots of water (when I am at home-I don't drink hardly any water while I am out, it's the curse of having a child and getting older.) I've been lazy and just enjoying being indoors and being lazy, lol. And I don't feel guilty. I want to get back on track and I know that I will.
The scale has been showing me that taking all the fun out of eating is not necessary (just like NOOM says.) Each day the numbers are going down regardless of the ham or cookies. I think our new couch might be helping in regards to my LE legs. It reclines to a zero gravity, and I use it at least once a day. (Oh, I haven't done my pump or used my compression socks since Christmas week) So is it my legs losing fluid? Is it my body shedding pounds? I don't know but I am good with it! I also need to mention that I am STILL below that dreaded mark on the scale that I was eager to get to. And, on Christmas eve, my mom (who is not on IG where I posted my photos of the weight loss in my face) said she could see a change in my body since Thanksgiving. THAT is a big endorsement, let me tell you. So maybe I don't see it, but it is happening. The numbers on that scale are real. An interesting change is that I am not all that interested in cookies this year. I mean, WHAT?!?!?!? But yes, it is true. I have no desire to eat about 90% of the cookies we made/brought home. Weird, right? Apparently my tastes have changed in the short time I have been on NOOM. (Oct 16th, 2023 was my first weigh in, and I have dropped 15lbs since then as of today) I have NOT changed how I eat. I still enjoy pizza, or once in a while fast food (that's not really my bag normally, but I will eat a few things), the occasional trip out to eat (Applebees salad!) I have no interest in desserts most of the time. But I've added water, and some times the steps. And I have changed my portion sizes. It's about changing the way you think about eating. A lifestyle change. So yeah, I won't be doing the newest fad diets: low carb, all seafood, all meat no fruits, whatever the newest craze is... I'll be over here eating pizza when I want it, getting my Applebees salad when I want it, and drinking all the water. HELLO 2024!!
